Camellias

      Today, I would like to talk about Camellias which is called "Tsubaki" in Japan.  It is a kind of flowers and the red petals have been the most well-known.  This flower has been familiar to Japanese people for a long time and sometimes it is said to be the birth flower in November in Japan.  This flowers are very beautiful and not only red but also pink or white flowers bloom.  The biggest feature is that when it falls, the petals fall at once, not one by one.  It is also one of the reasons why camellia has been loved.

     By the way, the flower language of the camellias change depending on the color of the petals.  The red camellia means "the modest virtue".  The white one means "the perfect beauty" and "the supreme sweetness".  The pink one means "the modest beauty" and "the modest love".  And collectively it means "the modest virtue" and "the modest beauty".  I really like the appearance and language of this flowers.  So if you are interested, please enjoy the Camellias!

The Problem of Microplastics

      photo-ac.jp      Today I would like to talk about "microplastics".  We often hear about it in the news these days and it is a serious problem on a global scale.   They are tiny plastic particles floating in the sea.  It is caused by human activities, for example, when garbage thrown away by humans is shattered in the sea.  And they cause damage not only to many creatures but also to humans because sea creatures take microplastics and harmful substances attached to them.  Terrifyingly, microplastics are so small that they may accumulate in our bodies without being noticed.    Moreover, they are increasing with the consumption of plastics, but no effective recovery method has yet been found.   Therefore I think that it is one of the most dangerous problems.      To solve this problem, I think we should work together around the world.   For example, Japanese stores begin to charge for plast...

Ghost Hunt

       Today I would like to talk about one of my favorite books.  It is “Ghost Hunt”, which was written by Fuyumi Ono.      This is mystery and horror story.  It is a series novel, and the first volume is a story about exploring the psychic phenomenon of the old school building.  A high school girl, a boy who is a director of research offices, and other unique psychics search for the cause of the mysterious phenomenon, but...      I am not good at horror novels, but I recommend this book because it is not too scary.  I am sure that you really enjoy this book.  Also, Fuyumi Ono's book called “The Twelve Kingdoms” is also very interesting, so if you have not read it yet, please read!!

Looks of Moon

       When you look up the sky on a brighter night than usual, you often see the beautiful full moon.  In Japan, it looks like rabbits pounding steamed rice into cake, which is called mochi.  However, it seems different in other countries.  For example, it looks like a grandmother reading a book in Northern Europe, a crab in Southern Europe, and a long-haired woman in North America.  And, it looks like a barking lion in Arabia and a crocodile or donkey in South America. These look so different not only due to cultural differences but also due to the difference in the inclination of the pattern of the time zone when looking at the moon.      I like rabbits making mochi, but I also want to see the shapes of other countries.  Especially, I am interested in a long-haired woman and a crab.  So, I have to go other countries to see... photo-ac.com
